In March this year, unemployment rate in Poland amounted to 5.4 percent – as provided by the estimates by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. – This means a slight decrease compared to the previous month and by 0.4 percentage points less than in the same period last year. This confirms the effectiveness of aid measures that have been implemented by the Government of Law and Justice for many months – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.

When visiting the centre for disabled people in Biskupiec, Minister Marlena Maląg informed on the act introducing the support allowance adopted yesterday by the Council of Ministers. The allowance aims at empowerment of persons with disability to make them decide on how to use the received aid.

The Government adopted a draft act introducing a new support allowance for persons with disabilities. The allowance will amount from 50 to 200 percent of social pension. The act will enter into force on 1 January 2024. “The State’s strength is demonstrated by the way it cares of the most vulnerable ones” – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

The recent years have brought pivotal changes to the social policy in Poland. Their symbolic inception was introduction of the Family 500+ programme on 1 April 2016. – Providing support to the families on such a scale has never been considered, even in hopes and dreams. It seemed simply impossible. Yet the Government of Law and Justice introduced the programme of universal support for families with children under with more than 220 billion Polish Zlotys were paid within these 7 years – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Minister Marlena Maląg held the meeting with seniors in the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. They presented the main objectives of the family policy addressing the elderly.

President Andrzej Duda signed the amendment of the Labour Code implementing the two EU Directives – so called Parental and Work-Life Balance Directives. – This is a response for changing trends on the labour market and implementing the solutions improving work-life balance of the working parents – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.

The higher co-financing for one participant in the Community Self-Help Centre and for further Senior+ Clubs and Homes was announced during a press briefing by Minister Marlena Maląg and Deputy Minister Stanisław Szwed at the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.

The solutions developed by the Ministry of Family and Social Policy increase the security of people suffering from domestic violence. President Andrzej Duda signed the Act on Thursday.

From the beginning, the family, elderly persons, persons in need of support have been in the centre of our activities. We have restored the dignity of work, we are investing in the future of next generations. As we know that the future is Poland – said the Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg during the meeting in Ostrów Wielkopolski.

Longer parental leave, additional days of special leave and stable forms of employment - these are just some of the solutions on which the Parliament completed its work on Thursday. Now, the amendment to the Labour Code will be submitted to President Andrzej Duda.
