Parent, from 1 July you will be able to apply for the “Good Start” benefit

On 1 July this year, the call for applications for this year's edition of the “Good Start” programme will commence. That's PLN 300 for a school starter pack for every student up to the age of 20. The application can be easily submitted online – the sooner you do this, the sooner the money will go to your account.

Parent, from 1 July you will be able to apply for the “Good Start” benefit

The “Good Start” programme is a support of PLN 300 for school starter kits for all students up to the age of 20, and up to the age of 24 for disabled children attending school. The participation is not income-related.

How to apply?

Applications for this year's edition of the “Good start” programme will be accepted by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) from 1 July to the end of November this year. You can only apply for this benefit online via:

  • the PUE ZUS portal or the mZUS mobile application
  • The Emp@tia information and service portal at https://empatia.mpips.gov.pl/
  • electronic banking.

When will the parents receive the funds?

Submitting an application in July or August guarantees payment of the benefit no later than 30 September. If the application is submitted in subsequent months (September, October or November), the family with receive support within 2 months of the application.

The “Good Start” programme does not cover students and children completing one-year's pre-school preparation in the so-called reception class or school.
