People are the strength of the economy

The government’s effort must be centred on people – their needs, aspirations, sense of dignity. Investing in people is the driving force of the Polish economy – said the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg during the inauguration of the ESG Congress – Polish Power of Business.
Polish Power of Business is a congress that discusses social, economic, ecological, business management and public health subjects. Its overriding idea is to build a new platform for the exchange of thoughts and views on the economic development and to develop a vision of Polish society in a dynamically developing world. Honorary patronage over the congress has been taken by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
During the speech inaugurating the congress, Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy, expressed the hope that the event will be an opportunity to develop new solutions enabling further raising of the standard of living of Poles and the economic development of the country.
The Minister stressed that at the government’s effort must be centred on people – their needs, aspirations, sense of dignity.
- Investing in other people is the driving force of the Polish economy. The last six years meant changes in the philosophy of thinking, the philosophy of business development, looking at society and investing in human capital – said Minister Maląg.
Minister Maląg: the objective is a strong Poland
Minister Marlena Maląg added that the government’s objective is a strong Poland, built on the foundation of the family.
The government’s actions are specific programmes being a real support for families or elderly people, such as the Family 500 plus, the Good Start programme or the thirteenth and fourteenth pensions. These programmes translate into an improvement in the financial situation of Poles. Only for child-support benefits from the Family 500+ programme, more than PLN 160 billion went to families – indicates Minister Marlena Maląg.
Solidarity also means building a Poland of sustainable development. It means taking care of the development of the smallest towns, departing from the development and financing of large agglomerations only. Minister Marlena Maląg pointed out that we can either be defeated by the economic crisis or we can draw conclusions and develop. She assessed that Poland had done will despite the pandemic, the economic situation of Poland is good. For example, the unemployment rate remains at a lower level than the year before.
The good situation in the labour market is the result of, inter alia, the introduction of the anti-crisis shield, thanks to which we saved more than 8 million jobs – says Minister Marlena Maląg.
Poland adopted a very ambitious development plan – it is the Polish Order, a strategic programme covering the economic sphere, but people and the Polish family are in the spotlight of this programme. The path is clear and clearly designated for us. Today, the priorities and milestones are set by the Polish Order – summed up Minister Marlena Maląg.
