PLN 22 million for social enterprises
18.10.2023
Giving opportunities to people at risk of social exclusion – including those with disabilities – is extremely important. This is what the social economy is for. In this year's edition of the Social Enterprise+ programme, we have allocated PLN 22 million to support them, says Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.
The Social Economy Act, signed last year by President Andrzej Duda, aims to provide even broader support for people at risk of social exclusion.
– Thanks to this Act, people at risk of exclusion will be provided with optimal conditions for employment and reintegration in social enterprises. It is important to us that there will be more and more such places – including jobs. Their role is extremely valuable, points out Anita Czerwińska, Deputy Minister of Family and Social Policy and Government Plenipotentiary for Social Economy.
Social enterprise+
One form of support for social enterprises is the Social Enterprise+ programme for 2023-2025.
- I am pleased to announce that under this year's programme, we have allocated PLN 22 million to support social enterprises. The vast majority, PLN 20 million, is a subsidy for employee remuneration. Thanks to such activities, we are strengthening together the innovative and developmental potential of this kind of entities, including the increase in employment of people at risk of social exclusion. This is very important, declares the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
Support under the programme
Under the call for proposals for the 2023 edition of the Programme, eligible entities could apply for support under the following instruments:
- Instrument 1 – Support for employment
Obtaining a subsidy for remuneration of an employee employed in a social enterprise.
- Instrument 2 – Ongoing support
Obtaining a subsidy to cover necessary fixed costs, e.g., management, promotion, legal and accounting services.
- Instrument 3 – Reintegration support
Obtaining a subsidy to cover the costs of social and professional reintegration of employees at risk of social exclusion.
More help for people at risk of social exclusion
- Under this year's programme, nearly 860 applications were submitted, of which almost 700 were specifically for employee wage subsidies. Thanks to this support, it is possible to provide even greater assistance to people at risk of social exclusion, stresses the government plenipotentiary for social economy Anita Czerwińska.
Those whose applications have been successful will be informed in the coming days by e-mail, to the addresses indicated in their applications, of the next steps in the procedure to conclude support agreements.
