Poland ranks second in the EU with the lowest unemployment rate, according to Eurostat

Poland's unemployment rate in December 2023 was 2.7 percent, lower than in November of the previous year, according to Eurostat. Our country is among the top EU countries with the lowest unemployment, surpassing only Malta with a rate of 2.4 percent.
According to Eurostat's methodology, the unemployment rate in the eurozone remained unchanged at 6.4 percent in December 2023, maintaining the same level as in November of the previous year. The average unemployment rate in the EU also remained unchanged at 5.9 percent.
Poland ended 2023 as the second country with the lowest unemployment rate in the EU, standing at 2.7 percent in December. This indicates a slight decrease in unemployment compared to November of the previous year (2.8 per cent). Only Malta recorded a better result (2.4 per cent). Czech Republic was third (2.8 per cent). Unemployment peaked at 11.7 per cent in December last year in Spain.
In December of last year, the number of unemployed people in Poland was 476,000, down from 479,000 in November 2023.
CSO: unemployment in Poland at the end of the year was 5.1 per cent.
The stable situation on the labour market is also confirmed by data from the Central Statistical Office. According to the CSO, the registered unemployment rate at the end of December 2023 was 5.1 per cent. The lowest unemployment at 3 per cent was recorded in the Wielkopolskie Voivodship. The highest number of jobless people was in the Podkarpackie Voivodship (8.7 per cent).
