Safe at school, safe at work

The “Safe at School” programme, as well as the additional measures implemented by the National Labour Inspectorate and the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy during the pandemic were the main topics of the press conference held by Minister Marlena Maląg last Thursday. Next, the head of the Ministry of Family and the deputy Minister Stanisław Szwed participated in the event of granting the Roman Giedrojć Awards of the Chief Labour Inspector
– Saving jobs always was and still remains a priority for our government. Today, we must continue to care about the employees, safety and work conditions. As a Ministry, we have introduced a number of solutions, including remote work. Permanent introduction of remote work into the Labour Code must protect both sides - the employee as well as the employer. That is why we will begin to work in September through the Social Dialogue Council - stated Marlena Maląg, the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy last Thursday at the Head Office of the Chief Labour Inspectorate.
The leading subject during the meeting with the journalists related to the “Safe at School” programme as well as the additional measures implemented by the Chief Labour Inspectorate and the Ministry of Family during the pandemic.
The Chief Labour Inspector Wiesław Łyszczek has stressed that the aim of the “Safe at School” programme is to disseminate the legal requirements and good practices in the area of tasks related to the prevention and reduction of risks at schools as well as educational institutions with particular regard to health protection during the pandemic. He informed that the main tools used in the programme include trainings and advisory assistance, as well as subsequent workplace inspections.

Each day we learn more about the importance of occupational health and safety. The pandemic has made us particularly sensitive towards such issues - it great that we are fully conscious of the risks and the importance of following the rules.
After the press briefing, Minister Marlena Maląg along with the Deputy Minister Stanisław Szwed took part in the ceremony of granting the Roman Gierdojć Awards of the Chief Labour Inspector, which was held for the third time.
The award is granted to up to three labour inspectors for specific requirements in the following areas:
- improved labour conditions:
- popularisation of labour law, health protection and occupational safety;
- effectiveness and determination in enforcing compliance with the labour law.
This year’s awards were granted to Dariusz Płochocki, Zbigniew Ćwikła and Jacek Golmento. The award ceremony was held on the death anniversary of Roman Giedrojć - August 27th.
