„Senior+”. Thanks to this year’s edition of the programme, the number of establishments will exceed one thousand

„Senior+” Day Homes and Clubs are unique and valuable places with a rich offer of activities for the elderly. – Thanks to this year’s edition of the programme, the number of establishments throughout Poland will exceed one thousand, 112 new centres will be created. This is excellent news. In 2015, there were only 99 of them across the country – points out the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
Today, there are 970 „Senior+” Day Homes and Clubs operating throughout Poland, with places for more than 23 thousand people. These centres are unique and extremely important for the local community. The elderly may use there an extensive offer of activities, workshops, they can meet and talk to other people, they feel important and needed. These values cannot be overestimated.
An increasingly rich offer for seniors
In recent years, the number of „Senior+” establishments has increased significantly – in 2015 there were only 99 of them, with fewer than 2.8 thousand places.
Our latest figures show that thanks to this year’s edition of the „Senior+” programme, another 112 Day Homes and Clubs are to be created across Poland. In total, their number will exceed one thousand – according to the plan, we will have more than 1,080 of them, and the number of places will exceed 25.6 thousand. This is great news, I am very happy that this offer is developing, that more and more elderly people have access to valuable activities – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
Support for existing establishments
In addition to co-financing the creation of new establishments, the „Senior+” programme also assumes co-financing for running those which already exist.
In the 2021 edition, co-financing was received by 556 institutions in total – „Senior+” 250 Day Homes and 306 Clubs, which provide places for 13.8 thousand people.

This year’s budget of the „Senior+” programme amounts to PLN 60 million.
