The duration of annual leave
The duration of the leave depends on the overall seniority, i.e. all periods of employment. It amounts to:
- 20 days with a period of employment of less than 10 years,
- 26 days with a period of employment of at least 10 years.
When working part-time, the duration of leave is proportionate to the time basis of employment, for example in the case of ½ of full-time, it is 10 or 13 days.
The period of employment on which the duration of leave depends includes the periods of previous employment without regard to the breaks in employment and the manner in which the employment relationship was terminated.
Periods of completed education are also included:
- a primary or other equivalent vocational school – the duration of the education provided for in the curriculum, but not more than 3 years,
- a secondary vocational school – the duration of the education provided for in the curriculum, but not more than 5 years,
- a secondary vocational school for graduates from primary (equivalent) vocational schools – 5 years;
- a general-education secondary school – 4 years;
- a post-secondary school – 6 years;
- higher-education institution – 8 years.
Periods of education shall not be aggregated.
Where an employee has received education during employment, the period of work on which the length of leave is based shall include either the period of employment during which the education was received or the period of education, whichever is more favourable to the employee.
