The Sejm of the Republic of Poland passed the Act on the fourteenth pension

On Thursday, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland passed the Act on the fourteenth pension. This year, about 9 million persons will receive an additional benefit, of which 7.7 million seniors will receive their payment in full, i.e. equal to the minimum pension. Payments of fourteenth pensions will start at the end of August.

14th pension – on what conditions?

The benefit in the amount of the lowest pension (PLN 1,338.44 gross) will be received by those old age and disability pensioners whose amount of benefits does not exceed PLN 2.9 thousand.

In the case of persons whose pension exceeds PLN 2.9 thousand, the additional benefit would be paid in the amount of the lowest pension, but reduced by a difference between the amount of the old age or disability pension and the amount of PLN 2.9 thousand.

According to the Act, the fourteenth pensions will be paid from 25 August to 20 September 2022.

Additional support for 9 million persons

Persons who acquire the right to benefits by 24 August 2022 are entitled to receive the benefit. No deductions or enforcements will be made from the amount of another additional annual cash benefit.

According to the Ministry’s estimates, this year the benefit will go to about 9 million persons. 7.7 million seniors will get their benefit in full amount. This year’s cost of payment of fourteenth pensions will amount to about PLN 11.4 billion
