The Silesian bank of ideas for Ukraine
25.04.2022
Minister Marlena Maląg, together with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, participated in the 5th Program Conference: "Silesian Order - Silesian bank of ideas for Ukraine", organized in Katowice.
Out of 90 thousand Ukrainians, arrived in Poland after the 24th of February and having found employment, 10 thousand are working in the Silesian region, said Minister Marlena Maląg during the Conference.
The job market is ready
Minister Maląg assured that the job market in Poland is in a very good condition and is ready to absorb additional employees. According to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS), wages increased by 12%, i.e. by a degree exceeding inflation. The minister recalled that, thanks to the special act, Ukrainian citizens no longer need work permits. Seeking employment is aided by, inter alia, the Ministry of Family and Social Policy "Together we can do more" program, addressed to public employment services, local governments and non-governmental organizations, for which we allocated PLN 100 million.
Mutual benefits
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki noted that we should look at helping Ukrainians through the prism of benefits for the Polish economy and society. “This help is mutual. We help refugees and Ukraine, while Ukraine is fighting for our freedom and security”, said the Prime Minister. He also added that we can now design programs for the future. “A region with such great engineering, industrial and managerial traditions as Silesia will play a huge role in the reconstruction of Ukraine”, - summed up Morawiecki.
