Thirteenth pension paid according to schedule
24.04.2020
In April, over PLN 10 billion were paid to pensioners entitled to receive an extra annual money benefit. The thirteenth pension has already been received by nearly 8.5 million persons. ‘Benefits are paid according to schedule,’ says the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy Marlena Maląg.
In spite of the epidemiological state, payments of the bonus (thirteenth) benefit for pensioners are made without interruption. In April, over PLN 10 billion have already been paid out. The additional pension has reached almost 8.4 million recipients. Now only those payments have remained that will be made to persons entitled to pre-retirement benefits and allowances in May.
‘I want to assure all pensioners that payments of additional annual money benefits occur without interruptions and delays. All pensioners – almost 10 million persons – will receive benefits,’ assures Minister Marlena Maląg.
The thirteenth pension will be ultimately paid to almost 9.8 million pensioners. Costs of payment of this benefit amount to PLN 11.7 billion this year.
Entitled persons and rules of granting the benefit
The one-off benefit may be granted to persons entitled, e.g., to retirement and disability pensions from the Social Insurance Company, farmer’s pensions (from the Farmer’s Social Insurance Fund), retirement and disability pensions of uniformed services, bridging pensions, pre-retirement benefits and allowances, social pensions, teacher’s compensatory benefits, disability pensions of the war-disabled and disabled soldiers and parent’s supplementary benefit.
In order to receive this benefit, you do not have to submit an application. It is granted ex officio. The thirteenth pension is also free of enforcement deductions and not included in income.
For the first time, pensioners received the additional benefit last year; the thirteen pension has had the status of a permanent annual bonus since March 2020.
