Unemployment in September 2024 at 5 per cent. CSO confirms MFLSP estimates

The registered unemployment rate at the end of September 2024 was 5 per cent. The Central Statistical Office has thus confirmed the estimates of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. The number of unemployed was even lower than we had forecast, at just under 770,000.

CSO confirms: unemployment at record low in June

The Central Statistical Office has confirmed the estimates of the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy - the registered unemployment rate at the end of September this year was 5 per cent and remained at the same level as at the end of August 2024.

The unemployment rate at the end of September this year ranged from 3 per cent in the Wielkopolskie Voivodship to 8,4 per cent in the Podkarpackie Voivodship.

The number of registered unemployed, according to the CSO, was 769,600 in September this year and was even lower than the MFLSP forecast (771,000).

Unemployment in flood-affected regions

In the Dolnośląskie, Śląskie, Opolskie and Lubuskie voivodeships, where a state of calamity was imposed, the unemployment rate in September this year was 4.6 per cent, 3.6 per cent, 5.7 per cent and 4.3 per cent respectively, thus only in the Opolskie voivodeship did it exceed 5 per cent, the rate for the country.

Compared to the previous month, the unemployment rate in Lubuskie Voivodeship fell by 0.1 percentage points, while it remained unchanged in the other three voivodeships.
