Unemployment rate decreasing in October

Good news comes from the labour market. According to the Statistics Poland data, in October the unemployment rate in Poland was 5.5%. In September, it was 5.6%. – The Statistics Poland thus confirmed the previous estimates of our ministry. We are glad about these reports, which show that the situation is stable – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
Despite the pandemic and the related difficulties, in almost all areas of life – including the economy – the situation in the labour market in Poland is stable. Several million jobs have been saved thanks to government support through the anti-crisis shield.
Statistics Poland: unemployment rate in October amounted to 5.5%.
According to the most recent Statistics Poland data, in October the unemployment rate in Poland was 5.5%. This is good news. In September, it was 5.6%. In turn, the number of unemployed people registered with labour offices was 910.9 thousand in October when compared to 934.7 thousand in September. This means a decrease by nearly 24 thousand.
October was the eighth month in the year in which the unemployment rate decreased on a month-over-month basis.
– The Statistics Poland data confirm the previous estimates of our Ministry. We are glad about these reports. They are the best evidence that the situation in the labour market in Poland is stable. Our activities related to protecting jobs and the multi-billion inputs for this purpose proved to be effective – says the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg.
The Ministry’s estimates are confirmed
From the initial estimates of the Ministry from the beginning of November it resulted that the unemployment rate in October was 5.5% and decreased by 0,1% when compared to the previous month.
The year before, the unemployment rate stood at 6.1%, so we are talking about a decrease by 0.6%.
