Unemployment rate in Poland the lowest in decades

Statistics Poland confirmed the estimates of the Ministry of Family and Social Policy. At the end of June this year, the registered unemployment rate in Poland reached 4.9 percent. This is the best outcome since 32 years.
According to data provided by Statistics Poland, at the end of June the labour offices registered 818 thousand of the unemployed. This is a drop by 32.2 thousand compared with May this year. Lower number of the registered unemployed in Poland has been recently recorded in July 1990 (699 thousand persons).
The unemployment rate in Poland has been that low for the first time since 1990. This is great news. We have been taking major steps towards job protection for many months. The effectiveness of our actions has been demonstrated both during the COVID-19 pandemics and after the attack of the Russian military forces in Ukraine. We are good and decisive government for difficult times – says Marlena Maląg, Minister of Family and Social Policy.
Unemployment rate in Poland at the end of June
As of the end of June this year, the registered unemployment rate was 4.9 percent. According to data, the lowest unemployment rate was recorded in Greater Poland – 2.7 percent, while the lowest in Warmia and Mazury – 7.6 percent. It composes month-to-month decrease in the unemployment rate in Poland by 0.2 pp.
Unemployment rate according to Eurostat
According to Eurostat data published as of the end of June this year, our country belongs to the states of the lowest unemployment rate in the European Union. According to the Eurostat methodology, this May unemployment rate in Poland was 2/.7 percent. Lower rate was recorded only in Czech (2.5 percent). Average unemployment rate for all EU states amounted to 6.1 percent, while for the Eurozone – 6.6 percent.
