Working Holiday Scheme Poland-New Zealand
The Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Poland and the Government of New Zealand on a Working Holiday Scheme was signed on the 9thof May, 2008. It was the first working holiday agreement signed by Poland. It created an interesting opportunity for young people to learn about the culture and way of life in Poland and in New Zealand as well as to engage in employment being a secondary purpose of the stay.
The benefits of the Programme
Working Holiday Scheme is dedicated for young people (aged 18 to 31). It offers a possibility to live in the host contry for up to 1 (one) year. During that time, participants are allowed to perform work, however the main purpose of their stay is of a touristic nature and in particular is to learn about the culture and lifestyle of New Zealand.
Requirements for the participation in the Programme
Citizens of the Republic of Poland are entitled to apply for the Programme if they meet certain requirements; in particular they:
- intend to stay in New Zealand primarily for the purpose of spending holidays;
- are between eighteen (18) and thirty (31) years of age, both inclusive, at the time of application;
- shall not be accompanied by dependants;
- shall possess a valid passport and a return ticket or sufficient funds with which to purchase such ticket;
- shall possess reasonable funds for the maintenance of his or her stay in the receiving country during the initial period of the stay;
- shall comply with any health requirements imposed by that Party and have sufficient medical insurance with hospital care included.
The annual limit of Working Holiday Scheme visas is 100 (one hundred).
