09.06.2022
More than EUR 1.75 billion from the cohesion policy for 2021-2027 will be received by the Śląskie Voivodeship for the European Funds for Śląsk regional program. The Deputy Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak and the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodeship Mieczysław Struk have signed the Program Contract.
The Program Contract is a document that details the size and spending of the EU money provided for each of the 16 regions under the 2021-2027 cohesion policy.
The agreement signed today is the basis for negotiations with the European Commission on the regional program "European Funds for Pomorskie 2021-2027,"
said Deputy Minister Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak.
The money available to Pomorskie in the new financial perspective will be used to make important investments in innovation, entrepreneurship, digitalization, infrastructure, environmental protection, energy, education and social affairs.
Within the framework of the document, a package of priority projects relevant to the development of the region was agreed. These are investments regarding support for entrepreneurship, road infrastructure, passenger rolling stock, as well as for tourism or vocational education,
the Deputy Minister added.
A strong emphasis will be placed on support for entrepreneurship and R&D, the low-carbon economy and on the fight against climate changes, as well as on support for activities related to social inclusion.
Some of the projects agreed upon in the program contract are of a long-term nature and are a continuation of activities already implemented with the support of EU funds.
Once the agreed document is approved by Brussels, it will be possible to allocate money to individual activities and launch competitions.
