Innovations, development, entrepreneurship – The European Funds for Smart Economy Programme approved by the European Commission
29.09.2022
The European Commission approved another of the eight national programmes implementing the Partnership Agreement. The European Funds for Smart Economy 2021-2027 Programme with its budget of 7.9 billion euros is the largest national programme supporting innovativeness in the European Union.
The European Funds for Smart Economy (FENG) is a continuation of two earlier programmes: Innovative Economy 2007-2013 and Smart Growth 2014-2020. It is the first national programme for the implementation of the cohesion policy 2021-2027 in Poland approved by the EC. It means that 7.9 billion euros will be received by Polish companies.
FENG mostly continues the Smart Growth 2014-2020 Programme; however, it demonstrates a new comprehensive approach to the needs of an enterprise when it comes to R&D work and the implementation of its results in an enterprise or organisation. The projects to be implemented will not only strengthen the Polish economy but also will help move it to a higher level of technological and environmental sophistication.
