More than PLN 8.7 billion from the state budget to co-finance own contribution for local governments of voivodeships
26.04.2023
We support local governments so that they have the funds available to supplement their own contributions for implementation of regional programmes. They will therefore receive more than PLN 8.7 billion from the state budget. This will increase the budget of all 16 regional programmes to over PLN 165.7 billion, announced the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Grzegorz Puda.
The opportunity of benefiting from the European Union funds depends on the beneficiary having the required own contribution.
The government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki supports all regions financially. This is a giant injection of money from the state budget, which will support the implementation of investment in the Polish regions. It provides an additional development impulse that will contribute to the development of entrepreneurship, the labour market, scientific research and will take care of the good climate and the environment. It will also improve transport accessibility and territorially balanced development,
emphasised the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Grzegorz Puda.
The amount of PLN 7.6 billion from the State budget will be allocated to:
- 2.4 billion - in addition to funds from the European Regional Development Fund,
- 3.7 billion - in addition to funds from the European Social Fund Plus,
- 1.5 billion - in addition to funds from the Just Transition Fund.
Another PLN 1.1 billion will be earmarked for the co-financing of projects implemented by state budgetary units and local government units within the scope of tasks delegated from the area of government administration through dispatchers.
Scale of support for the voivodeships
In the financial perspective 2021-2027, the required own contribution for each voivodeship amounts to:
- 30% for regions classified by the EU as transition regions (Lower Silesia and Wielkopolska region),
- 50% for regions classified by the EU as better developed (Warsaw Capital Region),
- 15% for the other regions in Poland categorised as developing regions by the EU.
