Official launch of the European Funds for Podkarpackie (EFP) programme 2021-2027

European Funds for Podkarpackie 2021-2027 will create a natural stream of financial support for further dynamic socio-economic development of the voivodeship and, above all, for improving the quality of life of its inhabitants,

said Deputy Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak.

What kind of funds for Podkarpackie

The budget of the new programme for 2021-2027 is EUR 2.265 billion, of which EUR 1.63 billion comes from the European Regional Development Fund and approx. EUR 0.63 billion from the European Social Fund Plus.

In the Podkarpackie region, the greatest emphasis will be placed on supporting the areas of innovation, low-carbon economy and combating climate change, education and health. The money available to the region in the new financial perspective will also be used for measures related to social inclusion, increasing transport accessibility and supporting areas of strategic intervention in the voivodeship,

the deputy minister added.

The region will also be able to benefit from funds originating from the programme for Eastern Poland as well as from the Recovery Fund and national programmes.

On 17 February 2023, the first meeting of the EFP 2021-2027 Monitoring Committee will be held, which will approve the project selection criteria for the programme priorities and measures. The deputy minister of the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak, will attend the meeting.

New EU perspective 2021-2027 for the regions

In the period 2021-2027, the total amount of EUR 33.5 billion will be available to regional authorities across the country. The budget of regional programmes accounts for as much as 44 per cent of the Cohesion Policy funds for Poland.

The ongoing numerous local government projects will contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of the whole of Poland, to the creation of new jobs and to the practical application of many, often innovative solutions.

Five voivodeships (Śląskie, Małopolskie, Wielkopolskie, Dolnośląskie and Łódzkie) will also have funds coming from the Just Transition Fund in their budgets. Local governments will use the funds to mitigate the social and economic effects of the transition to low-carbon economy.
