Poland has submitted a request for payment from the NRP
15.12.2023
Poland has sent its first request for payment from the National Reconstruction Plan to the European Commission. From the first payment request, our country will receive almost EUR 7 billion (over PLN 31 billion), including almost EUR 2.8 billion from the grant part and EUR 4.2 billion from the loan.
Submitting a payment request is an important and long-awaited decision for Polish women and men. We have kept our word and can announce that Poland has sent the first payment request from the NRP to the European Commission. That's €7 billion for concrete reforms and investment. This will speed up the implementation of projects that will allow all citizens to develop and contribute to the development of the country as a whole
-said Minister of Funds and Regional Policy Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz.
Later in December, an advance from the NRP revision will arrive in our country. The advance amounts to over EUR 5 billion
- Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz emphasised.
The funds from the first payment request from the NRP will be used, among other things, for legal facilities for companies, increased innovation and digitisation of enterprises, facilitation for medical students, more efficient management of Maluch Plus funding, enhanced road safety or the entry into force of the Social Economy Act.
Evaluation of the first payment request by the European Commission will take approximately 2.5 months. The process of evaluation by the Commission's committees will take approximately one month. This means that disbursement of the first NRP payment claim can be expected in April 2024.
NRP is a programme from which Poland is to receive €59.8 billion (PLN 261.4 billion), including €25.3 billion (PLN 110.4 billion) in grants and €34.5 billion (PLN 151 billion) in preferential loans.
