The cycle of meetings of the MDFRP in Eastern Poland has ended

28.06.2023

Białystok was the last city we visited as part of a workshop on possibilities of applying for funding from the European Funds for Eastern Poland (EFEP) programme for 2021-2027. The Deputy Minister, Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak and the Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, Artur Kosicki met with the beneficiaries.

The cycle of meetings of the MDFRP in Eastern Poland has ended

During six meetings in the regions, we provided entrepreneurs and local authorities with the most comprehensive information on the principles of obtaining support from the EFEP. We offered them the opportunity to be even better prepared to reach out for funding. The programme is gaining its momentum and competitions are already underway

- said the Deputy Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak.

The meetings organised by the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy were very popular. The workshop part, was led by experts from the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the Ministry of Climate and Environment - the programme's Intermediate Bodies. In addition to Białystok, we visited Kielce, Rzeszów, Radom, Lublin and Olsztyn.

All these activities were aimed to ensure that the submitted applications for funding are of the highest possible quality and that the money from the European Funds for Eastern Poland programme for 2021-2027 works efficiently in the economy.

I would like to point out that it is worth taking an interest in this programme as soon as possible, as it is addressed to a wide range of beneficiaries. Subsidies will be used by both small and medium-sized companies, innovative start-ups, companies in the tourism and energy sectors, as well as local governments and public service providers and NGOs. Large urban projects, such as those relating to sustainable urban transport, and supra-regional road and rail investments will also be able to benefit from co-financing from European funds

- said Marshal Artur Kosicki adding that:

EFEP is a programme that we have been waiting for and for which we have been working hard within the Committee for Eastern Poland at the Union of Voivodeships of the Republic of Poland, since thanks to it we can reduce the economic disparities in the eastern regions of Poland.

European Funds for Eastern Poland

The budget of the programme will amount to EUR 2.65 billion.

Local governments and entrepreneurs are the biggest beneficiaries of Cohesion Policy funds.

The amount of about EUR 1.3 billion is allocated to local governments, including funding for measures related to adapting cities to climate change, developing zero-emission integrated urban mobility, voivodeship roads and creating attractive supra-regional tourism products. An additional amount of EUR 0.5 billion will be allocated to entrepreneurs rendering their activities in Eastern Poland.

Eastern Poland today is undoubtedly a good place to live, work or invest. We owe this largely to the European Funds, but also to our beneficiaries, thanks to whom we have completed so many investment projects. Their effects are beneficial for residents, visitors or businesses operating here. The potential of Eastern Poland is also noticed by more and more investors - the Deputy Minister emphasised.
