We supporting urban mobility in the medium-sized cities of Eastern Poland
12.09.2023
We develop sustainable urban mobility in Eastern Poland. The call for applications for funding has started. This time, the competitive call is dedicated to medium-sized cities facing socio-economic difficulties.
European funds have been supporting the development of green mobility in Eastern Poland towns and cities for years. We can see how much has already been done and how much potential there is for further change. Importantly, under the European Funds for Eastern Poland programme, not only the capital cities of the eastern Polish voivodeships can now apply for investment funds, but also medium-sized towns and cities such as Chełm, Zamość or Łomża
– says Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy, Małgorzata Jarosińska -Jedynak.
Sustainable urban mobility will improve the quality of life for residents
Support will be given to projects that comprehensively address mobility issues in a given part of the agglomeration, consisting of:
- purchase of zero-emission rolling stock,
- construction, reconstruction and modernisation of infrastructure for public transport and other active forms of mobility (e.g. cycling, walking), including the integration of different forms of transport in the form of transfer centres,
- digitalisation of the mobility system (e.g. ITS, e-ticketing, information and travel planning linked to the implementation of tariff integration - common ticket).
The competitive call is aimed at medium-sized towns and cities with less than 100,000 inhabitants, facing socio-economic problems from the macro-region of Eastern Poland: Chełm, Zamość, Biała Podlaska, Łomża, Przemyśl, Stalowa Wola, Mielec, Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Ełk, Ostrołęka, as well as to Suwałki and Siedlce, considered as cities from sub-regions with a high concentration of marginalised municipalities.
The call is open until December 12
The budget for the call is PLN 440 million. The maximum level of project funding is 85% of eligible costs. The recruitment will be carried out by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development - Intermediate Body for the European Funds for Eastern Poland programme. Applications can be submitted from 12 September to 12 December 2023. Detailed information is available at www.fepw.gov.pl and https://www.parp.gov.pl/.
