About the CivTech International Alliance
CivTech International Alliance is an international community of public, private, and voluntary organisations working in areas of GovTech, CivTech, and CivicTech. Such institutions have created a forum where it is possible for them to exchange their various experiences. Their main goal, however, is to support and develop an ecosystem that fosters tech-based production of goods and provision of services, adding to the enhancement of the quality of citizens’ lives.
GovTech Centre has been working with the CivTech International Alliance since 2018 and actively engages in various initiatives of the community. One of such actions is the ongoing CivTech Alliance COP26 Global Scale-up Programme.
About the Programme
The CivTech Alliance COP26 Global Scale-up Programme is a project led in the English language created as a result of joining forces by 3 academic institutions and 8 national governments (including the GovTech Centre) from 10 countries: Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Scotland, Spain and the United States of America. The Programme is dedicated to fast-growing companies with global horizons. As a part of the initiative the companies have faced three challenges: possibilities of strengthening the environment against natural disasters, tackling food waste, and decarbonising transport.
The CivTech Alliance COP26 Global Scale-up Programme is a part of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference which will take place in Glasgow in November.
As GovTech Poland we have now for years been creating an international community of GovTechs and CivTechs, from every continent. By working together, we are able to solve the global challenges that people face regardless of their country of origin. The opening of the first-ever acceleration programme on such a scale gives companies a chance to help the national administrations look for solutions to decarbonising transport, reducing food waste, or making the environment more resistant to natural disasters. - Justyna Orłowska, Polish Prime Minister’s High Representative for Government Technology - Head of the GovTech Centre
