10.04.2020The tenth anniversary of the Smolensk plane crashOn 10 April 2010, a special TU-154M plane with the President of Poland Lech Kaczyński and the First Lady Maria Kaczyńska on board took off from Warsaw to Smolensk. On that very day the members of the official delegation were to participate in the ceremonies taking place in the Katyn War Cemetery, commemorating the 70th anniversary of the crime committed there. The aircraft carried 96 people, including members of the highest state authorities, representatives of various social circles and religious denominations, high-ranking military commanders and the plane’s crew. All the flight passengers died in the air disaster which took place during landing at the airport near Smolensk.

In emergency cases, please write an e-mail at: nairobi.amb.wk@ msz.gov.pl. Please also be informed that in connection with the travel restrictions imposed by the Government of Poland, the issuance of visas has been temporarily suspended. Please note that the collection of issued visa decisions and legalized documents that were submitted before March 25, 2020 will be possible onTuesday, April 7, 2020, from 10am to 12am.

25.03.2020Poland extends border controls to April 13, 2020 and limits personal movement until April 11, 2020The Government of Poland announced on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, that it had extended the control of all people crossing Poland's borders to April 13, 2020. The entry of foreigners into the country will be banned until April 11, 2020. Only Poles wishing to return home, their spouses and children, holders of Karta Polaka, diplomats and persons with the right of permanent or temporary residence in the Republic of Poland or holders of a valid work permit will be allowed to enter the country. The decision immediately came into effect.
