The TV set is still the most popular device for watching multimedia

Data from the National Media Institute (NMI), derived from the Founding Survey, shows that as many as 92% of surveyed Poles use a TV, including 48.1% with the smart TV option. The telephone is used by 90% of people, out of whom 75.2% use a smartphone. The radio is used by 80% of people. The survey was conducted among people aged 4 and over.
Measured between July 2021 and March 2022, it shows that the most popular media viewing device is the TV. It is used by 92% of us. A smart TV allowing access to the Internet, VOD and non-linear TV is used by 48.1% of people. A smart TV/TV Box is used by 1.7 % of Poles.
A smartphone with a touchscreen is used by 75.2% of respondents and a mobile phone without a touchscreen by 14.2%. A landline phone is still used by 11.5% of respondents. A total of 90% of respondents use a phone (describing the 4 and over population).
The radio (including all devices) is listened to by 80.3% of Poles and the radio in the car is used by 66.7%. A portable radio receiver is used by 36.7%. Only 2% of the Poles surveyed use headphones with built-in radio.
A Bluetooth wireless speaker is used by 7.5% of respondents.
7.4% of respondents use a home theatre with speakers, a soundbar 6.6% and 1.4%, media projectors or projectors.
A CD player is used by 11.3% of the Poles surveyed and a DVD or Blue-ray player by 9.6%.
6.9% of users use Smartwatches. Smartbands/FIT bands are used by 5% of respondents, while gaming consoles are used by 9.7%.
E-readers for e-books and e-newspapers are used by 2.1% of surveyed Poles, and a turntable for playing 'vinyl' is used by 1.3%.
Voice-activated speakers such as Amazon Alexa or Google Home are also not very popular. Only 1.4 % of people surveyed use them.
1.2 % of those surveyed do not use any of the media reception devices.
