H.E. Ambassador Krzysztof Dębnicki meeting with the new Mayor of Kuala Lumpur

On the 8th of December H.E. Ambassador Krzysztof Dębnicki met with the newly appointed Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Hj. Mahadi Bin Che Ngah.

The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Political and Economic section, Mr. Maciej Tumulec and Culture Affairs and Public Diplomacy Officer, Ms. Joanna Jurczyga. The Kuala Lumpur City Hall was represented by the heads of departments of:  city planning; culture, arts, tourism and sport; administration, corporate planning and the main architect of the city.

 

H.E. Ambassador Krzysztof Dębnicki expressed his appreciation for the progress in the development of Kuala Lumpur while the Mayor Datuk Hj. Mahadi Bin Che Ngah talked about his experiences from his stay during the COP24 climate conference in Katowice in 2018 and praised the development of the Polish transportation system.

 

During the meeting, the participation of representatives of Kuala Lumpur City Hall in the World Urban Forum 2022 (WUF11) organized in Katowice was discussed. In connection with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Polish-Malaysian diplomatic relations in 2021, joint cultural and promotional initiatives were also discussed. Interlocutors also exchanged views on "green cities", the city transport system and the protection of heritage buildings .
