The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur supports the SOHOM charity campaign

Visit of SOHOM (Spouses of Heads of Missions) took place on January 20, 2020, to Taiping. The purpose of the visit was to donate part of the money collected during the SOHOM Charity Bazaar in Kuala Lumpur organised on November 19, 2019.
On the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur, part of the funds collected during the SOHOM Charity Bazaar in the amount of RM15,000 (ca. PLN 13,500) was donated to a school for intellectually disabled children - Sekolah Semangat Maju Taiping.
The ceremony of presenting the funds was attended by Ewa Gotz-Dębnicka - the wife of the Ambassador of Poland to Malaysia and Joanna Jurczyga – Cultural Affairs Officer of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur as well as the wives of the following ambassadors: Ukraine (chairwoman of SOHOM), Nepal, Indonesia, Croatia, the Philippines and the UN. SOHOM members were received by the Representative of Sultan of Perak – Dato Wan Mohamad Isa and the director of the Handicapped Skill Training Center in Taiping, Stephen Chow Chee Khong. They have also met with the chairman of the Partners for Peace Malaysia organization – Mr. Joseph Lau.
The Embassy of the Republic of Poland was also responsible for the media side of the event, which was later broadcasted on the website of the Malaysian News Agency – BERNAMA:

The cooperation of Embassy of Poland in Kuala Lumpur with the city of Taiping has been ongoing for the past 10 years. During that time, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kuala Lumpur organized 7 concerts of Polish music, and the representatives of the Embassy od Poland in Kuala Lumpur have been regularly participating in events organized by the city, including the Taiping Peace Initiative held in September each year. In 2018, the visit of the Ambassador of Poland to Malaysia was combined with the celebration of the Centenary of Regaining Independence by Poland, during which 100 trees were planted at local schools.
