Tomasz Czyszek
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Malta
Tomasz Czyszek was born on 21 November 1974, in Kielce. He graduated in political sciences from the Law and Administration Faculty of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. He also studied at the Social Sciences Faculty of the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome. He completed the European integration post-graduate studies at the National School of Public Administration in Warsaw.
He began his professional career in the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Poland’s Accession Negotiations to the European Union within the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland where he worked from 1999 to 2001.
He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2002 where he dealt with Poland’s accession negotiations and EU institutional issues in the Department of the European Union and Accession Negotiations. From 2004 he served as First Secretary in the Embassy of Poland in Rome.
After returning to the Ministry in 2009 he worked on bilateral relations with Italy, Malta and the Holy See within the Western and Northern Europe Department. After two years he moved to the European Policy Department where he held posts of Head of the General Affairs Section and subsequently Head of the Western Europe Section.
In 2012 he was promoted to the post of Deputy Director of the Bureau of Archive and Information Management. In 2015 he returned to the European Policy Department where he dealt with EU institutional and political affairs. In 2016 he took up duties as Director of the Bureau of Archive and Information Management. In June 2019 he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Malta. He took office on 27 February 2020.
He is married with two daughters.
