"Karol Wojtyła #birth" exhibition in the Cathedral of St. Paul in Mdina

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Paul II and the 30th anniversary of his first pilgrimage to Malta, celebrated this year, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Valletta organized an exhibition prepared by the Centre for the Thought of John Paul II entitled "Karol Wojtyła. # birth". The exhibition will be available to visitors on October 15-29.

The exhibition was inaugurated by a concert. Musical pieces by Polish composers Waldemar Kazanecki, Wojciech Kilar and Michał Lorenc have been performed by Cordia String Quartet. 

Due to the existing restrictions related to Covid-19, a limited number of invited guests participated in the opening of the exhibition and the concert. However, the entire event was recorded and made available in video. 

At the same time, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Valletta invited well-known and respected personalities in Malta, among them the former President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Archbishop Metropolitan of Malta Charles J. Scicluna, Mr. Jean-Paul De Lucca - prof. of philosophy at the University of Malta and the actor - Mr. Kevin Cauchi, who shared in recorded statements their personal experience of contact with John Paul II. Their statements were included in the recorded material from the opening of the exhibition.
