Polish-Slovak cooperation in the bilateral dimension, as well as within NATO, the European Union and the Visegrad Group were the main topics of consultations of deputy ministers of defense of Poland and Slovakia - Tomasz Szatkowski and Róbert Ondrejcsák on July 4th in Warsaw.

Ministers discussed the state of preparations for the next week's NATO summit in Brussels. They expressed their hope that it would contribute to further strengthening the Alliance's ability to ensure the security of Member States, including those in our region.

They also discussed the engagement of both countries in the implementation of decisions of the NATO summit in Warsaw, including the enhanced forward NATO military presence in Poland and the Baltic States (enhanced Forward Presence).

The interviewees stressed the importance of regional cooperation within the Visegrad Group, including in the field of security and defense. They expressed hope that the Slovak presidency in the Group, started on July 1 this year, will contribute to the further development of this cooperation. They discussed issues related to the priorities and the program of the Slovak Presidency.

In addition, the deputy ministers discussed the current agenda of cooperation in the field of security and defense of the European Union, including in the area of strengthening European defense capabilities. They also discussed the possibilities of developing military bilateral cooperation, including the modernization of the armed forces.
