- Today, it is beyond doubt that if we are strong and responsible, peace will prevail in our part of Europe. We will persevere through all the vicissitudes of history and the independent and sovereign Republic will also endure. (…) We are indebted to our allies and to the successive Presidents of the United States for their willingness to visit us on the Vistula and to reiterate the importance of security guarantees. In challenging times, when Russian imperialism has been resurrected, which currently seeks to eradicate our neighbour, whom we staunchly support and who, we fervently believe, will also be part of the free world with us, because thanks to the free world and the support it will defend itself against Russian aggression
- President Andrzej Duda said in his speech.
In his address during the 106th anniversary of Poland's independence, President Duda emphasised the significance of Poland's return to the European map, both in terms of the future global system and the broader European context.
- In the view of American politicians and strategists, and in particular of the American President Woodrow Wilson, Poland was to be the pivotal point, the crucial fulcrum, which was to provide the balance in this part of Europe, where armed conflicts had raged for centuries. The return of the Republic of Poland to the map of Europe was a crucial step in the process of ending the war. The delineation of its boundaries constituted a crucial step in the pursuit of European peace
