Deputy Prime Minister W. Kosiniak – Kamysz visited the Pentagon

- I have discussed today at the Pentagon with the Secretary of Defence, Lloyd Austin the strategic partnership of Poland and the US. It is critically important in that moment of the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces when it is being supplied with the most modern US-made equipment, like the F-35 fighter planes, ABRAMS tanks and the APACHE helicopters – the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak – Kamysz said after the conclusion of the meeting at the Pentagon.
The talks between the Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak – Kamysz and the Secretary of Defence L. Austin took place on the 29th of August, 2024, in Washington, D.C.
During the talks concerning the modernization of the Polish Armed Forces and enhancing allied capabilities the US had confirmed that 8 helicopters will be delivered from their own Armed Forces until the first new aircraft is available to Poland. The Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz underscored the need for the timely fulfillment of defence contracts and their importance to building the potential of the Polish Armed Forces.
The security of the eastern flank of NATO was also one of the topics of discussion.
The Deputy Prime Minister W. Kosiniak – Kamysz thanked Secretary Austin for the continued presence of US troops in Poland, stressing its importance to our deterrence and defence capabilities.
Referencing the Russian aggression, the Minister and the Secretary of Defence have pledged to cotinue the necessary support for Ukraine.

During his visit in Washington, D.C. the Deputy Prime Minister W. Kosiniak – Kamysz laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Arlington National Cemetery.
