13.12.2023
The Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland are the guarantee of our security. I thank all the soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces, in every corner on our Homeland's soil and beyond its borders, for your patriotism, for the measure of your patriotism. This is extraordinary devotion to the Homeland, this is something for which each of us, each Polish man and woman is grateful to you. Thank you for serving in the Polish Armed Forces - no matter in what grade, no matter in how important a section - everyone is important. No one is unimportant. The uniform of a Polish soldier is sacred," said Deputy Prime Minister Władyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz during the ceremony of assuming duties as Minister of National Defense.
On December 12, 2023, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz was appointed by the Polish Parliament and sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense on December 13. The ceremony of assuming duties as head of the Ministry of Defense took place in Warsaw on December 13.
Speaking about the challenges to come, the head of the Ministry of Defense stressed that building a national community and cooperation provide a guarantee for the development of the Homeland and its security.
We will remember our history and build a better Poland. The very best one of our dreams, of our desires. This is an extraordinary role for our government. We will build it in cooperation, by preserving what is good and correcting imperfections and what has gone wrong. (...) I declare the best possible cooperation and to seek agreement. I declare the best possible cooperation with the President of the Republic of Poland, because this is a shared responsibility of the executive branch. I also declare the implementation of our program. This is especially important for us: credibility, effectiveness, and looking to the future. There is a huge opportunity and many threats. What we take advantage of, how we choose, how we act, will define us. And every day will be a test of that. I am confident that by building the strength of the Poland together, we will show that we can rise above mediocrity. In the face of all these threats, this is simply imperative. These will be good years for the Polish Armed Forces. We will do everything to fulfill the stipulations of the Constitution, other laws of the Republic of Poland, and the well-being and prosperity of citizens will always be my greatest imperative.
Mariusz Blaszczak, who is stepping down as Minister of National Defense, thanked the Polish soldiers for their past service to Poland's security and the development of the Polish Armed Forces.
