PMC IRAQ
The contingent carries out mandate activities as part of the Global Coalition Force against the Islamic State.
As part of the support for the construction of Iraq's defense capabilities, Poland at the NATO summit in Brussels on May 22, 2017, declared that it would take the initiative as Lead Nation (LN) for training Iraqi soldiers in the subject of repair and maintenance of post-Soviet combat technology.
The main objective of the mission is to support the Iraqi Security Forces in regaining the ability to take responsibility for ensuring security in their country.
The objectives pursued by the contingent include improving the capabilities of the special forces and the security of Iraq, as well as increasing the capabilities in the subject of improving military technology.
Increasing involvement in the mission: (from the beginning of 2019), i.e .:
- Mobile Training Teams (periodically directed to the theater);
- additionally - an engineering platoon;
- additionally - a security platoon and an advisory team.
