Poland and Denmark strenghten military cooperation

„Security of Baltic Sea area is for both our countries a matter of highest importance. That is a reason for which I am glad that we could meet today to discuss its aspects. Both Poland and Denmark are very satisfied to know that Finland and Sweden are about to join NATO family. We also appreciate cooperation with Denmark in the Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin where we act hand in hand as one body” - said Mariusz Błaszczak, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Poland after the meeting with Minister of Defence of Denmark.
On September the 12th, Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the Ministry of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak hosted Morten Bødskov – Minister of Defence of Denmark. Discussions involved matters related to the security in Baltic Sea area, further support and supply for Ukraine, as well as strengthening military cooperation between our two countries.
„We strongly value Danish investment into supporting Ukraine. I personally had an opportunity to participate in a meeting of North Atlantic Treaty Organization member countries in Copenhagen, where such aid was talked through. It has highest significance, as independent Ukraine guarantees not only free Poland but also free Europe. We still remember that attempts to rebuild Russian empire historically meant great evil and pain, that is why fight of Ukrainian people is so important for us as it diminishes threat of imperialistic aspirations of Russia and effectively contributes to our shared freedom”

„Denmark and Poland have a long history of cooperation. This history, as well as being part of both NATO and European Union bring us closer, bring us together. We support one another and I strongly appreciate the presence of 45 Danish troops on Polish soil as member party of Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin, Our countries already cooperate guarding sky under Air Policing mission and in a number of other activities keeping safe each other and every NATO member country ”
– added Minister of Defence of Denmark in his remarks.
The head of the Ministry of National Defence of Poland emphasised other aspects of bilateral collaboration of our countries.
„We are also grateful for enabling the possibility to diversify Polish energy supply sources (…). As Poland and Denmark are neighbours it is significant to maintain our good relationship in every dimension – not only military, but social and economic ones as well. Mutual relations of our countries have a long-lasting tradition, it is crucial to tighten these as part of NATO and EU. But most importantly, together we build security of Europe" – he said.

Denmark is a member party of Multinational Corps Northeast in Szczecin. In MNCNE serves nearly 400 NATO officers and non-comissioned officers, mostly from Poland, Denmark and Germany. Its Headquarter is also responsible for so-called NATO’s eastern flank region as command of the Alliance regional land forces component.
