Polish-German cooperation important for security in the region

Strengthening bilateral cooperation and development of projects that have a significant contribution to regional, European and transatlantic security are the main topics discussed by Mariusz Blaszczak, Minister of National Defense and Ursula von der Leyen Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany.
On Friday Minister Błaszczak met with Minister Ursula von der Leyen in the Ministry of National Defense in Warsaw. The meeting was held in connection with the Polish-German intergovernmental consultations on November 2nd, the subject of which was, among others, bilateral relations, European policy, energy and security.
During the talks, the head of the National Defense Ministry drew attention to the need to strengthen cooperation in the area of allied defense and deterrence policy in the region. He stressed that all efforts should seek to counteract primarily the threats from the east and south.
Minister Blaszczak also dealt with matters related to Polish-German cooperation in the Multinational Corps North - East in Szczecin and the Multinational Division North - East in Elbląg.
One of the topics were also issues related to the development of defense capabilities under the mechanism of Permanent Structure Cooperation (PESCO).
