Polish-Romanian intergovernmental consultations

The security situation on the eastern and southern flanks of the North Atlantic Alliance dominated the talks of Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of National Defense of Poland with Mihai Fifor, Minister of Defense of Romania. The heads of the defense ministries of both countries met during the Polish-Romanian intergovernmental consultations on May 25, 2018 in Warsaw.

As part of the consultations led by the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dăncila, the defense ministers discussed military cooperation between Poland and Romania. During the bilateral meeting, Mariusz Błaszczak and Mihai Fifor thoroughly analyzed and summarized the ongoing service of soldiers of both countries as part of the "enhanced forward presence" (eFP) in Poland and the "tailored forward presence" (tFP) in Romania. Deputy Minister Tomasz Szatkowski also took part in the talks.

The Ministers of Defense of Poland and Romania also participated in the plenary session of intergovernmental consultations at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. This was the first intergovernmental consultation in relations with Romania.
