“I distinguished and thanked all those soldiers who have distinguished themselves with their attitude and service over the last time. This attitude is directly identical with that of our ancestors who defended the reborn Poland just 102 years ago. Thanks to your attitude, Poland is safe - said Mariusz Błaszczak, Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of National Defence, during a meeting with soldiers in Warsaw.
On Sunday, August the 14th , on the eve of the Polish Army Day and on the 102nd anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak awarded the soldiers with awards and medals for impeccable service. For special achievements in the performance of official tasks by entering the merits in the "Honorary Book of the Polish Army" the Deputy Prime Minister awarded Brig. Gen. R. Jędrychowski and Colonel J. Chojnacki.
Soldiers of the Polish Army who, risking their lives, evacuated the civilians from Kabul occupied by the Taliban today received Medals of the Armed Forces in the Service of the Fatherland. Minister Blaszczak, congratulating all the distinguished, also addressed special words of thanks to the soldiers who supported the health service in the fight against coronavirus and served on the Polish-Belarusian border.
“Let me remind you of the support provided by the soldiers of the Polish Army when we were struggling with the epidemic. I will remind you of this important event, for which I distinguished Polish soldiers - the evacuation of our allies from Afghanistan. There is no doubt that if not for the evacuation of a thousand people from Afghanistan, they would be in danger of death. And it was our soldiers who conducted such an evacuation action. Thank you very much for that. I am also grateful for the attitude of our soldiers who served on the Polish-Belarusian border”
- said the head of the Ministry of National Defence.
On the eve of the Polish Army Day, 15 soldiers received distinctions for heroism, sacrifice and courage in saving human life.
“Soldiers who are on duty for 24 hours were also awarded. You helped by saving human life, you did not pass by when you saw that someone needed help. You have successfully rescued those who needed help. I also thank you very much for that”
- said the deputy prime minister.
The head of the Ministry of National Defence stressed that thanks to the attitude of the soldiers of the Polish Army, our Homeland is safe.
“Our efforts are aimed at making the Polish Army more numerous, for the Polish Army to be equipped with modern weapons. We consistently do it, organize and bring to life new military units. And this was not the case until 2015, until that year military units were liquidated. Now military units are brought to life. All this serves to ensure that Poland is safe and that thanks to your daily service, Poland is safe. I would like to thank all of you once again for this”
- said Deputy Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.
