The ministers of the Northern Group engaged in discussions concerning the situation in Ukraine and the cooperation of defence industries

The primary focus of the discussion was the situation in Ukraine and the developments on the frontline. The Minister of Defence of Ukraine provided an account of the situation. Furthermore, we discussed the cooperation between the defence industries of the EU countries, the Northern Group - Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said following the meeting of the defence ministers of the Northern Group countries.

The primary focus of the discussion was the situation in Ukraine and the developments on the frontline. The Minister of Defence of Ukraine provided an account of the situation. Furthermore, we discussed the cooperation between the defence industries of the EU countries, the Northern Group - Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said following the meeting of the defence ministers of the Northern Group countries.

On Wednesday, 20 November, a meeting was held in Copenhagen with the participation of defence ministers and representatives of ministries from the twelve countries forming the Northern Group (Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia) and invited guests.

In regard to matters pertaining to the situation in Ukraine, the head of the Ministry of Defence indicated that during a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, he had discussed the prospect of providing further support for Ukraine, while recalling Poland's involvement in this assistance thus far.

- Poland is engaged in the process of training Ukrainian soldiers. To date, approximately 25,000 individuals have undergone training. (...) we have also discussed the commitment to promote the action of encouraging people residing in Poland and across Europe to enlist in the Ukrainian army. Poland has pledged to provide training to these individuals, yet the number of applications remains insufficient

Without Poland, there is no support for Ukraine. Poland serves as the conduit for providing support to Ukraine. Minister Umerov expressed gratitude to the Polish people for their support over the past thousand days. On behalf of myself and the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, I extend my sincerest thanks

The head of the Ministry of Defence informed that the next meeting of defence ministers from the Northern Group countries was scheduled to take place in Ukraine in the early part of next year.
