Your service guarantees security to Poland

- I would like to thank you for your service outside of Poland, together with Romanian soldiers. This is extremely important for us, for Poland, for our security - said Mariusz Błaszczak, the Minister of National Defense, during a meeting with soldiers serving in the Polish Military Contingent in Romania.

On Tuesday, the head of the Ministry of National Defense paid a visit to Bucharest, where the defense ministers of the B9 countries met. In the afternoon, in the town of Craiova, Minister Błaszczak met in the barracks of the Multinational Brigade South - East with the command of the Polish Military Contingent and the command of the Romanian 2nd Infantry Brigade.

As minister Mariusz Błaszczak emphasized during his conversation with Polish soldiers, their presence in Romania is very important right now, when the security system within NATO is being created.

- It is important that we can feel safe in our homeland. But also in Europe as we are a part of it. I am convinced that the experience gained here in Romania will pay off in your service - said the minister at the meeting with the soldiers.

- What I heard from commanders, especially from Romanian commanders, shows that you represent Poland of its best. This is a good sign of your professionalism and preparation - the head of the Defense Ministry noted.

Minister Mariusz Błaszczak also greeted the soldiers on the occasion of the upcoming Easter.

In the Polish Military Contingent in Romania now serves about 230 soldiers from the 7th Rifle Battalion of Wielkopolska as well as specialists from other military units and institutions. The second commander of the contingent is Maj Andrzej Kowalczyk.
