The Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Poland has published a summary of activities undertaken over the last two years in the field of digital affairs. There was a place for two important initiatives carried out with the involvement of the National Institute of Telecommunications.
At the request of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the Institute developed and launched the internet.gov.pl website. It allows citizens to check the availability of broadband networks in any building in Poland and to report the need for services where they are lacking.
The Institute also became involved in the assistance organized by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister for Ukraine and its citizens. Poland provided nearly 20,000 Starlink satellite internet terminals to its neighbors, and the delivery of a significant portion of them was organized by the NIT. The devices are used, among other things, in medical points and hospitals, as well as by Ukrainian railways. They enable children to learn remotely, support emergency communication systems, and allow residents of Ukraine to stay in contact with their loved ones beyond the country's borders.
