Gold Polish Army Medal for Stephen R. Covington

On May 31, Ambassador Tomasz Szatkowski, on behalf of the Minister of National Defense, awarded Stephen R. Covington, Strategic and International Affairs Adviser to Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) with the Gold Polish Army Medal.
Steve Covington is our advisor, mentor and strategist. He is also our friend and Ally. Steve helped us, both military and civilians, to better understand what is at stake in the Alliance and how we can make a difference by contributing to the common basket, said Ambassador Szatkowski during the award ceremony.
For 30 years, S. Covington has been an advisor to successive Supreme Allied Commanders Europe (SACEUR) at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), and he is mainly involved in the development of the concept of deterrence and defense. He contributed significantly, inter alia, to the deployment of Allied forces in Poland and the Baltic States (eFP).
The ceremony was attended by the family and associates of Stephen Covington, as well as representatives of NATO leadership.
