Jacek Najder

Acting Permanent Representative of the Republic of Poland to the North Atlantic Council

Ambassador Jacek Najder is a career diplomat, with private sector and academic experience.

In 1985 he graduated from Social Studies, University of Warsaw. He started his professional career in the Public Opinion Research Institute. After that he worked in private companies. In 1991-1992 he worked for the UN Mission Iraq. In 1992 he began his service in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He held the positions in Polish Embassies in Pakistan and South Korea. In 2005-2007 he was a Deputy Director and then Director of the Asia and Pacific Department. In 2007 he was appointed as an Ambassador to Afghanistan and continued his mission to 2008 when he returned to Poland as a Deputy Foreign Minister. In 2011-2016 he served as a Permanent Representative to NATO. From 2017 he worked in consultancy and cooperated with leading Polish think-tanks and universities in the fields of international relations, security and defence and diplomacy.

Ambassador Jacek Najder speaks English and Russian. He is married and has two grown-up children.
