The discussions focused on the preparations to the Washington Summit in July and Allied support to Ukraine. The ministers agreed that continuation of military support to Kyiv is a priority task and NATO’s role in the process should be enhanced. Head of Polish diplomacy stated that the defeat of Russia in Ukraine is necessary for restoration of stability in Europe and encouraged Allies to step up assistance to Ukraine. During the meeting the Council also discussed progress in reinforcing NATO deterrence and defence posture, which is key with regard to Russian malign activities aimed at Allies. Minister Sikorski underscored that NATO should be ready to adapt to the changing nature of Russian threats.

At the margins of the meeting Minister Sikorski addressed Polish and foreign media.
