Meeting of Minister Radosław Sikorski with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte

During his visit to Brussels, the Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski met with the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Mark Rutte.

The conversation focused on the priorities in the areas of security and defense of the Polish Presidency in the European Union, which began on January 1st. The Minister and the Secretary General discussed also preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague, NATO-Ukraine relations, and continued Allied support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the state of transatlantic relations after the inauguration of President Donald Trump’s Administration. Minister Sikorski and Secretary General Rutte emphasized the need to increase the security of critical infrastructure in the Baltic Sea. Mark Rutte also expressed his appreciation for Polish investments in defense, presenting our country as a model NATO member in this respect.
