On September 9th a commemorative ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of the birth of the Solidarity Movement in Poland was held at the NATO Headquarters. The event was combined with the inauguration of the iconic Solidarity sign installed on the NATO premises.

General Rajmund T. Andrzejczak, who leads the Polish Armed Forces, is running for the position of the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee. The Polish Government officially recommended him to chair this highest military body of the Alliance. The result of the competition will be known in September following the voting by chiefs of defence of all NATO countries. The new Chairman will assume his duties in the summer of 2021.

On 15 August 2020 we solemnly celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw – a culminating point of the Polish-Soviet War (1919-1920) and one of the most decisive events in the history of Poland, Europe, and the world.

“We are sending international aid to Lebanon,” Deputy Minister Paweł Jabłoński said at a press conference held at the MFA on Wednesday.

- Today’s shipment is a gesture of solidarity and cooperation with our partners, particularly with the Eastern Partnership countries. The mutual support that we provide to each other will make the adverse effects of the pandemic easier to overcome and will help us return to the path of growth, - said Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński at Wroclaw airport on 19 June 2020 as he attended the departure of military aircraft loaded with protective equipment for hospitals, doctors and nurses in Armenia and Georgia.

Minister Mariusz Błaszczak participates in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council, which on 17 and 18 June 2020 is chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stolteneberg.
