President Duda and Secretary General Stoltenberg discussed preparations for the meetings of NATO's defense and foreign ministers in February and March, and for the upcoming NATO Summit, planned for the first half of 2021. In the context of the latter, leaders discussed the ongoing Reflection Process and a report produced last year by a group of international experts on the adaptation and strengthening of NATO's role. One of the group members and the co-author of the report was the former Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anna Fotyga.

President Duda also raised the topic of adaptation of the Alliance, i.e. strengthening of the collective defense. He underlined the need to enhance not only the political, but also the military dimension of the Alliance and to maintain deterrence and defense on NATO's eastern flank.
