On June 2, the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to NATO together with the European Cybersecurity Forum CYBERSEC organized a seminar entitled “Cyber defence and emerging and disruptive technologies in times of Russian aggression against Ukraine.”
During discussions with NATO experts, representatives of think-tanks and other Brussels organizations, the role of cybersecurity and EDTs in enhancing the deterrence and defense capabilities of Allied countries, especially on NATO's eastern flank, was discussed.
The topic of the second part of the seminar was the use of cyber defence and new technologies in the context of helping Ukraine against aggression from Russia. The panellists summed up the experience gained so far from the ongoing cybersecurity war and discussed what NATO and Allies can do to improve Ukraine's ability to counter Russian aggression.
Representatives of the Polish Permanent Delegation to NATO and European Cybersecurity Forum were joined at the seminar by panelists from the European Organization for Cybersecurity and DIGITALEUROPE as well as BG Oleksandr Potii, deputy head of the State Service for Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine. NATO Assistant Secretary General for New Security Challenges David van Weel gave introductory remarks to the discussion.
The seminar was a substantive contribution to the discussion on cybersecurity and emerging and disruptive technologies in the context of deterrence and defence, war in Ukraine and the upcoming NATO Summit in Madrid.
