Tribute to Ambassador Adam Kobieracki (1957-2024)

It is with deep sadness that we inform about the passing of Ambassador Adam Kobieracki, former NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations.
Ambassador Adam Kobieracki passed away on 4 April 2024 at the age of 66. He was a Polish diplomat specializing in international security and arms control. He served as a Permanent Representative of Poland to the OSCE and UN in Vienna 1997-2000. In 2001-2003, 2008-2011 and 2015–2016 Director of the Security Policy Department in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2003 to 2007 NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations. Between 2011 and 2015 Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre and Deputy Head of the OSCE Secretariat. Recipient of the Order Polonia Restituta.
He will be remembered for his service to Poland, NATO and OSCE as well as for his great character and friendliness.
