In October 2021, the ministers of agriculture of Poland, Mr. Grzegorz Puda, and of Palestine, Mr. Ryiad M. Y. Attari, signed a Memorandum of cooperation in the field of agriculture. During the ministerial meeting held during the POLAGRA food fair organized in Poland, the following topics were discussed: the state of mutual cooperation and the issues of access to the Palestinian market for agri-food products from Poland and the possibilities of developing trade exchange. The memorandum covers the following areas of Polish-Palestinian cooperation:

-  agricultural research (genetics, technologies, modern agricultural techniques), exchange of laboratory practices, experts in animal health, food and feed safety;

- intensifying cooperation in the veterinary field and increasing the capacity of the Palestinian Veterinary Service;

- development of land and water resources (land reclamation and water extraction);

- exchange of experience in the field of veterinary and phytosanitary regulations, diagnostic activities, measures and agreements to achieve the smooth functioning of the entire food safety chain; exchange of experiences in the field of registration of plant protection products;

- promotion of bilateral agricultural trade between Palestine and Poland.

The Polish Minister of Agriculture is convinced that the joint task should be to work on removing all obstacles that may limit the development of trade between Poland and Palestine. He also stressed the great potential for increasing mutual trade and the fact that agricultural productions in both countries complement each other.

The main products exported to Palestine in 2020 were: waters, including mineral waters and carbonated waters (export value increased by 10 percent); chocolate and other food preparations containing cocoa (increase by 50%); bread, pastry, cakes and pastries (increase by 30%); frozen beef (nearly 3 times higher). According to the Ministry of Agriculture, these goods accounted for 81 percent the value of all agri-food exports from Poland to Palestine in 2020.
